We all know that Clare Stanton likes to have her finger in a lot of pies so the name of this recipe seemed particularly appropriate. She's a bit of a sweetie really and after her recent trip to Australia I'd expect her to be lightly browned. You can spread these fingers with any topping of your choice but I don't recommend anything too sweet, she can be a very tough lady.
Ingredients
4oz of butter or margerine
4oz of caster sugar
4oz self-raising flour
1 egg
125ml milk
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180°C or 350°F or Gas 4. Grease a cake tinof your choice.
Beat the butter until it's creamy. Add the sugar and beat it again. Add the eggs and beat it again.
Mix in the flour a little at a time. Pour in the milk and mix until it's all smooth.
Poor it into the cake tin and bake for about half an hour or until it's a nice golden colour.
Let it cool a little then slice it into fingers, toast and butter.
